Wrestling: Cortland Takes Down Norwich, 30-9

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - Clayton Brittingham pinned his opponent at 165 pounds, and Jacob Ferguson won his match at 174 pounds, but it was not enough as the Norwich University wrestling team dropped a 30-9 decision to Cortland Friday afternoon at the 21st annual Budd Whitehill Division III National Duals, hosted by Lycoming College.

Brittingham pinned Corey Mahoney in 1 minute, 47 seconds in the 165-pound bout, giving the Cadets six points. Ferguson followed with a 5-4 decision against Will Brodfuehrer at 174 pounds.

Cortland won the remaining eight matches to cruise to the victory.

Norwich (1-3) will return to the mats later today when the Cadets play a consolation match.
