BABSON PARK, Mass. - Andrew Packer and Matt
Enright each scored three goals apiece, and Babson exploded for
eight goals in the second quarter as the Beavers defeated Norwich,
13-4, in a Pilgrim League men's lacrosse game Saturday evening.
The Cadets fall to 0-5 (0-2 Pilgrim) on the season, while the
Beavers improve to 3-7 (2-0 Pilgrim).
Babson jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first quarter, but
Norwich responded by outscoring the Beavers, 3-1, to end the stanza
and pull to within 4-3 at the conclusion of the opening 15 minutes.
Babson outscored NU 8-0 in the second quarter to take a
commanding 12-3 lead into halftime. Both teams added one goal
apiece in the fourth quarter to round out the scoring.
Tyler Woods and Scott Pearce each scored two goals apiece to
lead the Norwich offense, while Drew Caplin added two assists for
the Cadets.
Nick Bakos played the entire game in goal for NU, and made eight
saves on 21 shots.
Norwich has now scored four goals in each of its last four
games.
Norwich returns to action on Wednesday, April 9, when the Cadets
are slated to host in-state rival Green Mountain College at 4 p.m.
