NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Scott Pearce scored a
game-high seven goals, and Tyler Woods added six goals to lead the
Norwich University men's lacrosse team past visiting Lyndon State,
24-5, on Monday afternoon at Howard Field.
The Cadets (3-8) scored 11 goals in the first quarter, and added
eight more in the second stanza as they opened up a commanding 19-1
halftime lead.
Drew Caplin added four goals and two assists for Norwich, while
C.J. Hamilton chipped in three goals and five assists. Kyle
Marzeoti contributed two goals and five assists. Craig Van Yahres
collected two goals, while Pearce and John Lighthall each added one
assist apiece.
Lyndon State (1-8) was led by Craig Salvagno, who scored a
team-high three goals. Christopher Mansour added two goals for the
Hornets, who are competing in their inaugural season.
Norwich returns to action on Wednesday, April 23, when the
Cadets travel to Springfield, Mass., to take on Pilgrim League foe
Springfield College at 7 p.m.
