NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University men's lacrosse team opened its 2008 home slate on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 19-4 decision to Wheaton in a Pilgrim League contest at Howard Field.

Wheaton (4-7, 2-2 Pilgrim) outscored Norwich, 8-1, in the first quarter, and raced out to a 17-4 halftime lead. The Cadets did not threaten in the second half, as they were held scoreless in the third and fourth quarters.

Tyler Woods paced the NU offense with two goals, while Kyle Marzeoti chipped in one goal and one assist. Drew Caplin added a goal, and John Keating contributed one assist to round out the scoring for Norwich.

Norwich (2-8, 0-5 Pilgrim) returns to action on Monday, April 21, when the Cadets host Lyndon State at 4 p.m.
