SOMERVILLE, Mass. - Rob Harlow's goal with 8:40
remaining capped a furious comeback in the final 16 minutes of
action that lifted Norwich to a 3-2 over Suffolk in a GNAC men's
soccer match Saturday evening.
The visiting Cadets (4-1-0, 2-0-0 GNAC) trailed 2-0 entering the
latter stages of the match, but evened matters on a pair of markers
by Drew Dilley that came just 1:35 apart. The junior converted a
penalty kick in the 74th minute and took a feed from Harlow in the
75th minute for his fourth goal of the season to tie the contest at
2-2.
Harlow then converted a pass from freshman Ryan Boyton in the
82nd minute for his fifth tally of the year that proved to be the
game-winner for Norwich.
Freshman Adrian Brendel had given the host Rams (2-1-0, 0-1-0
GNAC) a 1-0 halftime advantage when he converted a feed from junior
Eric Zettervall with just over seven minutes remaining before the
break for his first collegiate goal, and junior Ben Lotterer
extended Suffolk's edge to 2-0 in the 68th minute when he took a
pass from sophomore Frank Serret for his third marker of the
season, setting up the late Cadet heroics.
NU goalkeeper Jake Pagragan picked up his fourth win of the
season in goal for Norwich with a four-save effort. Cadets outshot
the Rams by a 17-10 margin for the match.
The Norwich men's soccer team will return to the pitch tomorrow
(Sunday, Sept. 16), when the Cadets host in-state rival Lyndon
State at Howard Field. Kickoff is slated for 2 p.m.
