BRISTOL, R.I. - Three Norwich grapplers placed
to lead the Cadets to a 10 th-place finish at the Roger Williams
Invitational on Saturday. NU racked up 54 points, and finished just
behind MIT (55 points) for ninth place.
Bridgewater State and Rhode Island College tied for the team
victory with 139 points apiece. Southern Maine (131.5 points),
Johnson & Wales (125.5) and Roger Williams (115) rounded out
the Top 5.
Jake Ferguson was the highest Norwich placewinner, finishing
fifth in the 165-pound bracket. Ferguson was awarded a win by
medical forfeit over teammate Clayton Brittingham, who wound up
placing sixth overall at 165 pounds.
Connor Keating was the Cadets other placewinner, taking sixth at
157 pounds after losing in the fifth-place bout to John Marsh of
Bridgewater State.
Norwich will return to action on Wednesday, Nov. 14, when the
Cadets travel to Plymouth, N.H., to take on Plymouth State at 6
p.m.
