NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Rob Harlow netted a hat trick
to lead the Norwich men's soccer team past Suffolk, 5-1, in a GNAC
semifinal matchup on Wednesday afternoon at Howard Field. The
Cadets (16-2-1) advance to the conference championship game, which
they will host on Saturday afternoon against second-seeded Johnson
& Wales.
Bobby Begin got NU on the board in the fourth minute when he
headed the ball into the net off a nice pass from Jake Yaris.
Harlow tallied his first of three goals in the 17th minute when
he converted off an assist from Peter Andrews. Harlow put the
Cadets on top 3-0 in the 36th minute when he corralled a deep kick
by goaltender Jake Pagragan and slipped the ball into the goal.
Drew Dilley rounded out the first half scoring when he took a
pass from Ryan Boyton and beat the Suffolk keeper.
Harlow put an exclamation point on the victory with his third
goal of the contest less than two minutes into the second stanza
when he scored off an assist from Pagragan.
Norwich outshot the Rams, 26-14, and the Cadets held a 4-3 edge
in corner kicks.
