KEENE, N.H. – The Norwich University men's golf team finished tied for fifth at the Keene State Invitational on Tuesday afternoon, carding a team score of 315 (+31) at Keene Country Club in their final tune up compeitive round before competing in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships at home in Barre.
The Cadets were led by Braden Camire (Saco, Maine), who fired a 75 (+4) to finish tied for fifth overall. Camire's performance placed him inside the top five individually in the 42-player field, making that one of his best performances of the season.
Harrison Giambattista (Danielson, Conn.) followed closely behind, carding a 76 (+5) to finish tied for ninth. Jamie Crispi (Norwood, Mass.) posted an 81 (+10) to finish tied for 26th, while Jack Dunn (Quincy, Mass.) finished tied for 30th with an 83 (+12).
Rounding out the Norwich lineup, JD Mahoney (Ellicott City, Md.) carded an 85 (+14) to finish tied for 36th.
The Cadets will now turn their attention to the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships, returning to the Country Club of Barre next Monday and Tuesday for the two-day championship tournament on a course very familiar to the Cadets for both practice rounds and two competitive rounds this season.
Cooper Bertrand (Caledon, Ont.) will look to defend his individual crown from last season in his final collegiate golf season.
