Christian Albrecht '16 (Men's Soccer) - One of the most accomplished defensive players in Norwich men's soccer history, Albrecht anchored the Cadets' back line throughout a standout four-year career. He was a two-time Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Defensive Player of the Year in 2014 and 2015 and a four-time GNAC All-Conference selection, earning First Team honors in both 2014 and 2015 after Second Team recognition in 2012 and 2013. He also earned GNAC All-Tournament Team honors in 2015 and twice received NSCAA All-New England recognition, landing on the NCAA Division III All-New England Region Third Team in 2014 and Second Team in 2015. His senior season brought additional ECAC All-New England Second Team recognition, making him just the third player in program history to earn ECAC postseason honors. Team captain as a senior, Albrecht helped lead a Norwich defense that allowed just 25 goals in 21 games in 2015 while also contributing two goals and three assists.
Hannah (Bell) St. Pierre '16 (Women's Rugby) - St. Pierre remains, as of 2025, the all-time leading scorer in Norwich rugby history, men's or women's, with 743 total points, including 242 points on conversions and penalties and 501 points from tries. A cornerstone of one of the greatest eras in program history, she won four Division I national championships with Norwich, including two USA Rugby Division I 7s titles, one ACRA Division I 15s title, and another ACRA Division I 7s title, while also helping the Cadets to three Division I national runner-up finishes. She earned USA Rugby Collegiate All-American Division I honors in 2013-14, NCAA Varsity League All-American recognition in 2015-16, and ACRA Division I All-Tournament Team honors in 15s in 2013-14. A tri-captain as a junior and co-captain as a senior, she paired elite athletic achievement with academic distinction at Norwich before later earning her J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. She now serves as a junior associate at Choate Hall & Stewart LLP.
Marley Balasco '11 (Softball) - Balasco ranks among the most productive offensive players in Norwich softball history. A two-time team captain, she earned GNAC All-Conference Second Team honors in 2010 before moving up to the First Team in 2011. She was named Norwich's Most Valuable Player in 2010 and Most Outstanding Offensive Player in 2011, while also receiving national statistical recognition during her career in runs per game, on-base percentage, slugging percentage, batting average, and home runs. She remains among the program's all-time leaders in games played, at-bats, runs, hits, doubles, home runs, RBIs, walks, slugging percentage, and on-base percentage, including a tie for first in career runs scored with 138. Her senior season was one of the finest in program history, as she hit .438 with 46 hits, 10 home runs, 37 RBIs, and a .829 slugging percentage. She also holds the school record for most at-bats in a game with seven.
Sani Siric '06 (Men's Soccer) - One of the premier attacking players in Norwich men's soccer history, Siric was a four-time GNAC All-Conference First Team selection from 2002 through 2005 and earned GNAC Rookie of the Year honors in 2002. He remains fourth all-time in career points with 119 and fifth all-time in career goals with 50, adding 19 assists over his career. His highest single-season totals came in his freshman year, when he posted 38 points and 17 goals, and he led the team in scoring in each of his first three seasons. As a senior in 2005, he led the Cadets in assists and received the program's Coach's Men's Soccer Award. Across four seasons, Siric established himself as one of the most consistent and dangerous offensive threats the program has produced.
Brian Mullally '06 (Men's Ice Hockey) - Mullally was a standout defenseman and leader during one of the most successful eras in Norwich men's hockey history. A member of the Cadets' 2003 NCAA National Championship team, he later earned All-ECAC East Honorable Mention honors in 2003-04 before ascending to the All-ECAC East First Team in 2005-06. His senior season also brought AHCA Second Team All-American recognition, placing him among the top defensemen in Division III hockey. An assistant captain as a senior, Mullally was named a semifinalist for the Joe Concannon Award in 2006, presented to New England's best American-born Division II/III player. He finished his Norwich career with 75 points on 15 goals and 60 assists, providing high-level two-way play from the blue line. After graduation, he continued his hockey career professionally in the ECHL, CHL, and Dutch Elite League.
Alexandria Evans '01 (Women's Soccer / Women's Swimming & Diving) - Evans distinguished herself as one of the top dual-sport athletes of her era at Norwich, excelling in both women's soccer and women's swimming & diving. In the pool, she was a four-time All-New England selection and held the school records in the 100 IM and 200 IM for more than a decade. She remains among the program's all-time leaders in numerous events and was also a member of the school-record 400 medley relay team that posted a 4:14.44 in 1999, a mark that still stands. On the soccer field, Evans was a two-time team captain, earned NSCAA All-New England Third Team honors in 1997, and was selected to the GNAC All-Tournament Team in 2000 while also winning the team's Most Valuable Player award. She ranks among Norwich's all-time leaders in saves, wins, save percentage, goals-against average, shutouts, and games played in goal, including first all-time in goalkeeper games played with 65 and second in career saves with 602.
Col. Bill McCollough '91, USMC (Ret.) (Distinguished Letterwinner in Men's Swimming & Diving) - McCollough excelled in the pool before going on to an extraordinary career of military service and university leadership. As a swimmer, he won the 50 freestyle at the year-end state meet in all four years of his career and earned All-New England honors in the 50 freestyle as a sophomore. He produced multiple strong finishes at the New England Championships, including top-20 results in the 50 freestyle, 50 butterfly, and 100 butterfly, and remains among Norwich's all-time leaders in the 50 and 100 freestyle, 50 and 100 butterfly, and 100 IM. A Rhodes Scholar nominee in 1990-91, he later served 30 years on active duty in the United States Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Colonel and serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and multiple overseas operations. His military decorations include the Legion of Merit with "V" device and four gold stars, Bronze Star with "V" device, Purple Heart, and Combat Action Ribbon with one gold star. In June 2026, he will retire after four years of service as Norwich University's 56th Commandant of Cadets and Vice President for Student Affairs.
Frank Vanecek H'10 (Honorary) - Vanecek is completing his 50th year of service to Norwich University, where he has filled a remarkable range of roles across academics and administration. A graduate of the University of Dayton, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and Kent State University, he has served Norwich as a professor of computer science, Head of Management & Computing, Vice President of Student Affairs, Vice President of Information Technology, Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Vice President of Admissions, among other leadership roles. His impact on Norwich athletics, particularly men's ice hockey, has been equally significant. For the last 25 years, he has served as the faculty advisor for the men's hockey program, guiding hundreds of student-athletes through their academic careers and playing a central role in the team's sustained academic success. Widely respected for his mentorship, accessibility, and commitment to student-athletes and recruits alike, Vanecek has left an enduring mark on Norwich well beyond the classroom.
2005-06 Men's Basketball Team - The 2005-06 Norwich men's basketball team delivered one of the most memorable seasons in program history, finishing 21-8 overall and 13-5 in GNAC play while capturing the GNAC Championship and recording the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament victory. The Cadets defeated Elms College, 82-70, in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament before closing the season 1-1 in national tournament play. That breakthrough win remains a landmark moment for Norwich men's basketball, as the Cadets established themselves on the national stage after a championship season. The team featured Norwich Athletic Hall of Famers Geoff Hensley, a GNAC All-Conference First Team selection, and Rene Cheatham, a GNAC All-Conference Second Team honoree, as part of one of the program's defining squads.
2005-06 Men's Swimming & Diving Team - The 2005-06 Norwich men's swimming & diving team produced one of the finest seasons in program history, finishing 11-2 overall, a mark that still stands as the program's record for most wins in a season. The Cadets placed fourth out of 16 teams at the New England Championships and also made the first men's team appearance at the ECAC Championships in program history, finishing 14th out of 21 teams. During the season, Norwich set six school records in the 50 free, 100 free, 100 back, 200 free relay, 400 free relay, and 800 free relay, while also winning four New England event championships in the 500 free, 1650 free, 50 free, and 800 free relay. The team produced six All-New England performers and included standout contributors such as Matt Zilinski, recipient of both the Bob Muir Award and the Joe Sabol Athlete of the Year Award, along with Norwich Athletic Hall of Famers Ben Courtney and Chris Prybella.
The 2026 induction class reflects the full breadth of Hall of Fame membership, with honorees selected through regular membership, honorary membership, distinguished letterwinner recognition, and team membership. Together, the group represents championship success, record-setting performance, professional distinction, mentorship, and service to Norwich University.
The induction ceremony will be held during Homecoming Weekend and will include formal recognition of each individual inductee and team. Individual inductees will receive commemorative plaques and will be invited to offer brief remarks, while inducted teams will designate a representative to speak on behalf of the team. Photos and biographies of all inductees will also be featured in the Hall of Fame Induction Program and added to the Norwich University Digital Athletic Hall of Fame.
The
Digital Athletic Hall of Fame, developed through Norwich's partnership with Rocket Alumni Solutions, continues to serve as the central online home for Norwich's athletic history. The interactive database features biographies, photos, and historical information on Hall of Fame inductees and teams, and has been made possible in large part through the generosity of Norwich University Fins and Feathers. In collaboration with the Department of Athletic Communications and the Department of Archives & Special Collections, the digital display continues to be expanded with supplemental content that preserves and showcases the legacy of Norwich Athletics.
The Selection Committee also continues to welcome nominations for future induction classes. Under the Hall of Fame's annual nomination window, nominations are accepted each year from October 1 through February 1. To be eligible for consideration for the next induction class, nominations must be submitted within that window. Nominations received after February 1 will be held for future consideration.
Any Norwich alumni, faculty, staff, or member of the Selection Committee may nominate
individuals or
teams for induction into the Athletic Hall of Fame. Self-nominations for individual awards are not accepted. Regular, distinguished letterwinner, memorial, and team nominees are eligible for consideration any time after the 10th anniversary of their year of graduation or team participation at Norwich University. Nominators are asked to provide supplemental information and documentation, including records, statistics, and occupational information, with the submission of a completed nomination form.
