Men's Lacrosse: Dils earns first career GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week honor, Marcotte lands on Honor Roll

WINTHROP, Mass. - Following a competitive 1-1 week in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) play, Norwich University men's lacrosse junior goalkeeper Mason Dils (Watervliet, N.Y.) has been named the GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week for the first time in his career, while sophomore attacker Jake Marcotte (Old Orchard Beach, Maine) earned his third GNAC Honor Roll selection of the 2026 season, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Dils becomes the first Norwich men's lacrosse player to receive a weekly conference award since Marcotte was named GNAC Rookie of the Week on Apr. 7, 2025.  His recognition also marks the Cadets' first GNAC Goalkeeper of the Week honor since Tommy Hopkins '25 earned the distinction on May 3, 2022.

Dils anchored the Norwich defense across two conference starts, totaling 26 saves while posting a 60.5 save percentage against a pair of potent GNAC offenses.  He opened the week with 11 saves in a 10-7 road victory over New England College, helping the Cadets build and protect a multi-goal lead while securing their second straight conference win.

The junior followed with one of his strongest performances of the season on Saturday afternoon, turning aside 15 shots in an 11-10 overtime setback at undefeated, reigning GNAC champion Rivier University.  Dils kept Norwich within striking distance throughout the contest and gave the Cadets a chance deep into regulation and overtime against one of the conference's top attacking teams.

In addition to his work in the cage, Dils contributed six ground balls over the two-game stretch and continued to provide a steady veteran presence for a Norwich defense that generated pressure throughout the week.

Marcotte, meanwhile, remained one of the Cadets' top offensive catalysts, totaling eight points on six goals and two assists across the pair of GNAC matchups.  He opened the week with a five-point showing in the win over New England College, scoring four goals and adding an assist at Norwich surged out to an early 5-0 lead and never relinquished control.

He followed with another efficient outing against Rivier, recording three points on two goals and an assist while helping Norwich go toe-to-toe with the unbeaten Raiders.  Marcotte finished the week with 14 shots, including 11 on goal, and continued to deliver a consistent scoring presence within the Cadets' balanced offense.

Dils' poise in goal and Marcotte's continued production helped Norwich navigate an important week in conference play, as the Cadets remained in the top half of the GNAC standings heading into the next stretch of league action.

Norwich returns to action on Tuesday, Apr. 7, hosting Regis College at 4:00 p.m. on Sabine Field at Haynes Family Stadium, before traveling for GNAC road contests at Emmanuel College on Apr. 15 and Dean College on Apr. 18.
