WINTHROP, Mass. - The Norwich University men's swimming & diving team earned its third straight week of Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) recognition on Monday afternoon, as junior
Kristian Adlianitski (Cheshire, Conn.) was named GNAC Swimmer of the Week, freshman
Max Ansell (Red Bank, N.J.) earned GNAC Rookie of the Week honors, and sophomore
Drew Bylow (Monroe, Mich.) landed on the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll.
Adlianitski picks up his third Swimmer of the Week accolade of the 2025-26 season following another commanding sprint and IM performance. He captured individual wins in the 100-yard freestyle (48.62) and 100-yard individual medley (54.12), while anchoring Norwich's winning 400-yard medley relay in a dominant 130-50 Senior Day victory over Plymouth State University.
Ansell also collected his third GNAC Rookie of the Week honor this season after sweeping the breaststroke events. The freshman took top honors in the 50-yard (29.50) and 200-yard (2:25.67) distances, while contributing to the Cadets' winning 200-yard freestyle relay to cap the meet.
Bylow continued his stellar all-around season with two more individual victories and two relay contributions. He posted a 2:00.16 to win the 200-yard backstroke and a 23.96 in the 50-yard butterfly, while leading off both of Norwich's first-place relay squads.
The Cadets controlled the meet from start to finish, winning all 14 events they entered to improve to 5-1 in dual meets on the year.
Saturday's 400-yard medley relay squad, including Adlianitski, Bylow,
Adrian Riendeau (Ridgecrest, Calif.), and
Andrew Clark (Acworth, Ga.), broke a nine-year-old pool record with a 3:38.48 time. The original record of 3:41.02 was set in 2017 by a Colby College relay team.
Norwich will close the regular season this Saturday, Jan. 24, at Eastern Connecticut State University at 12:00 p.m., before shifting focus to the 2026 GNAC Championships, where the Cadets will look to defend their three-time league title.
