NORTH SUTTON, N.H.- In their penultimate competition before the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships, the Norwich Men's Golf team took on conference foe New England College (NEC) in match play Sunday afternoon.

The Pilgrims emerged victorious, winning six of the seven individual pairings. The lone win for the Cadets came courtesy of Harrison Giambattista (Danielson, Conn.), who built up a four-hole lead by the sixth. Giambattista made birdie on seven and eleven before clinching an eight-hole victory with birdie on 18.

Three-time reigning GNAC Golfer of the Week Cooper Bertrand (Caledon, Ont.) went toe to toe with NEC's Graham Hassan. The two battled back and forth throughout the day, with neither building a lead bigger than two holes, before Hassan took the lead for good at the 16^th hole.

In their final competition before the conference championships, the Cadets will get a course preview on Oct. 8 when they travel to New Haven to face NEC and Albertus Magnus in a tri-match.
