Men's Lacrosse: Cisar, Fleury, Funk receive GNAC All-Conference recognition after 2025 campaign

WINTHROP, Mass. - The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) recognized three standout members of the Norwich University men's lacrosse team with postseason accolades on Tuesday afternoon, as defender Clayton Cisar (Aberdeen, Md.) earned a spot on the All-GNAC Second Team, attacker Drew Fleury (Nashua, N.H.) was named to the Third Team, and defender Cole Funk (Chico, Calif.) represented the Cadets on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

The recognition comes after a season marked by resilience, individual growth, and standout performances across key conference match-ups.  Under the leadership of Head Coach Neal Anderson, Norwich saw significant contributions from veterans and underclassmen alike while navigating a highly competitive GNAC slate.

Cisar served as a consistent force on the backline throughout the 2025 campaign, starting in all 15 contests.  A physical and poised defender, Cisar led the team with 31 caused turnovers, while also collecting 31 ground balls and drawing the assignment of opposing top scorers.  His strong defensive presence helped anchor the Cadet backfield and provided stability against high-octane GNAC offenses.  His recognition marks the first All-Conference honor of his collegiate career.

Cisar is Norwich's first Second Team honoree since Mason McMahon '24 in 2023.  Since 2008, he ranks second all-time in caused turnovers in a career with 91, while his 31 caused turnovers this season ranks third in a single season since 2008.  His caused turnovers per game mark of 2.07 ranks within the top 55 nationally in Div. III men's lacrosse.

Joining Cisar on the All-Conference list is Fleury, who collected his second consecutive Third Team honor.  Fleury continued to emerge as one of Norwich's most prolific offensive threats, finishing the season with a team-best 35 goals and 12 assists for 47 total points.  He recorded five hat tricks, including a pair of dominant showings with eight points against Plattsburgh State and six points against Lasell to open the season.

Fleury's dynamic scoring and playmaking ability made him a consistent spark for the Cadets.  He was also a force in ground ball battles, securing a season-high 11 against Vermont State University Castleton.

Rounding out the honorees was Funk, who was named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team.  A respected leader both on and off the field, Funk brought a steady presence as a defender throughout the season and embodied the values of respect, integrity, and teamwork.

The Cadets recently closed the 2025 season with key wins over Plattsburgh State, Vermont State University Castleton, Anna Maria College, and Regis College.
