Men's Swimming & Diving: Adlianitski, Wettig collect GNAC weekly honors, Bylow and Clark named to Honor Roll

WINTHROP, Mass. - The Norwich University men's swimming & diving team continued to collect weekly recognition from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC), as junior Kristian Adlianitski (Cheshire, Conn.) and sophomore Gabe Wettig (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) were named GNAC Swimmer of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively, while Drew Bylow (Monroe, Mich.) and Andrew Clark (Acworth, Ga.) earned spots on the GNAC Weekly Honor Roll, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

The quartet played pivotal roles in Norwich's dominant 148-68 victory over Regis College in Saturday's home-opening meet at Goodyear Pool, helping the Cadets win 10 of 13 events in their first GNAC dual of the season.

Adlianitski turned in another elite-level sprint performance, taking first in the 50-yard freestyle (21.97) and the 100-yard freestyle (49.93), winning both events by commanding margins.  He also swam the breaststroke leg in the Cadets' winning 200-yard medley relay team, which opened the meet with a 1:39.64 finish, more than 13 seconds clear of the field.

The honor marks the sixth weekly award of Adlianitski's career and second this season.  He previously earned four GNAC Swimmer of the Week honors in 2024-25, along with four Rookie of the Week selections as a freshman.

Wettig earned his second straight GNAC Rookie of the Week nod after logging three strong finishes across individual and relay events.  The sophomore finished second in the 100-yard freestyle (52.08) and third in the 200-yard IM (2:13.21), and swam the second leg of Norwich's winning 400-yard freestyle relay squad, which closed out the meet in 3:23.56.

Bylow added a pair of individual wins in the middle distance and backstroke events, clocking a 1:51.11 in the 200-yard freestyle and a 55.40 in the 100-yard backstroke.  He also contributed to the winning 200-yard medley relay, leading off the race with the backstroke leg.

Clark continued to shine in both mid- and long-distance events, claiming first place in the 100-yard butterfly (54.01) and 500-yard freestyle (5:12.62).  He too was part of the Cadets' winning 200-yard medley relay unit, swimming the butterfly leg as Norwich jumped out to a commanding lead to open the meet.

The Cadets will return to the pool on Saturday, Nov. 1, when they host Husson University at 12:00 p.m. inside Goodyear Pool.  The meet is the second of three straight home duals for Norwich during the fall stretch.
