JAY, VT - The Cadets added another win to an already impressive regular season defeating the Johnson Badgers 335 - 387 at the VTSU Lou Jarvis Invitational which was held at the Jay Peak Golf Course in Jay, VT.
"It was a great win and great opportunity for some of our players to get tournament experience," explained first year head coach
Cam Clarke. "We were led by
Dylan Hartanto (79) and
Alex Lewis (81). This win gives us momentum going into next week's GNAC tournament."

In only their second year since being reinstated as a varsity program, the golf team has had an exceptional season. The first half of the season quickly showed the potential of the young team. The year began by showing consistent improvement, opening with a 3rd place finish, then improved to a 2nd place finish before claiming the first victory of the year in a dual match. The midway point saw the Cadets with a solid 19th place finish in a crowded and deep field at the Duke Nelson Invitational. But, the second half of the season showed the exponential growth every athletic team is looking for. Since September 15th, Coach Clarke and the golf team have accumulated three 1st place finishes and a pair of 2nd place finishes in their last five outings.Â
The aforementioned Hartanto (79) and Lewis (81) paced the team in the match against VTSU Johnson.
David Hubacher (86),
Matt Printup (89) and
Tyler Orton (93) rounded out the team scoring on the day.
Jackson Clayton competed as an individual at the invitational and shot 91.
This weekend's victory at the Lou Jarvis Invitational was the last regular season outing before heading into the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships which will be held October 9th - 10th in New Haven, CT.
