Box Score PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Eight different players scored for
Norwich as the Cadets used a balanced offense to down Plymouth
State 8-2 in the inaugural game at Hanaway Rink on Friday
night.
Norwich (4-1, 3-0 ECAC East) won its fourth straight and
remained unbeaten in league play thanks to a lethal power play that
converted four times on six chances.
Senior F Sarah Scardino opened the scoring with
her second tally of the season on a power play to give the Cadets a
1-0 lead. Scardino positioned herself in front of the net and
tipped a shot from Amanda Wilks at the point past
Plymouth State goaltender Ali Ponte.
Norwich increased the lead to 2-0 just under two minutes later
when senior F Brittane Michaud lit the lamp for
the first time this season for another NU power play goal. Michaud
poked home a loose rebound on the doorstep of the crease after
Ponte was down. Renee Lortie and Julie
Fortier recorded the assists.

period when Fortier tallied her fifth goal of the season by putting
home a rebound off Parsons' initial shot from the top of the
circle to make it 4-0.

Caitie Banfield for her team-leading seventh goal
of the season to put the Cadets up 5-0 with 4:40 remaining in the
second period.

Plamondon's bid for a shutout in her first career
start for the maroon and gold. Davis' shot was partially
blocked by Plamondon, but the puck trickled over the line before
Plamondon could cover it to cut the lead to 5-1 with 1:47 left in
the period.
Senior F Kelsey Cone scored her first goal of
the season from a zero angle shot at the side boards that found its
way through Ponte's five-hole to give Norwich a five-goal
lead again.
Plymouth State (0-2, 0-2 ECAC East) answered at the 12:48 mark
when Ali Myers banged home a rebound to Plamondon's blocker
side to cut the deficit to 6-2.
Sophomore F Jillyane DeBus provided the
highlight-reel goal of the night by deking around a defender and
then cutting across the top of the crease to kiss a backhand shot
off the post and into the back of the net to stretch the
Cadets' lead to 7-2 with 4:32 left.
Lortie capped the scoring with another power play goal when she
tipped a shot from the point into the corner of the net to give
Norwich an 8-2 lead with 19 seconds left.
