Women's Ice Hockey: Cadets announce eight-member incoming class for 2026-27 season

NORTHFIELD, Vt. - Norwich University women's ice hockey Head Coach Justin Simpson has announced the program's eight-member incoming class ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The class includes five forwards, two defenders, and one goaltender, adding depth across the lineup for a Norwich program coming off one of the most accomplished seasons in program history.  The group features four Americans, three Canadians, and one German student-athlete, representing four U.S. states, three Canadian provinces, and one country outside of North America.

The newcomers will join a Cadets program that finished 26-3 overall in 2025-26, captured both the inaugural Little East Conference regular-season and tournament championships, went undefeated in conference play, and advanced to the NCAA Division III Frozen Four for the first time since 2018.

"Our coaching staff is thrilled to welcome eight outstanding student-athletes to our program," Simpson said.  "This incoming class reflects the diverse reach of our program, featuring four Americans, three Canadians, and one German.  Together, they represent four different U.S. states, three Canadian provinces, and a country outside of North America.

"Combined with our returning players, this group will strengthen our depth at every position while adding a tremendous amount of skill, competitiveness, and hockey IQ to our roster.  They arrive at Norwich with an impressive range of high-level playing experience, including the IIHF World Championships, USA Hockey National Championships, USA Hockey Development Camps, Hockey Canada National Championships, and other elite experiences.

"We are incredibly excited to integrate this talented class with our returning core as we continue to build on last season's success and take the next step in the growth of our program.  The future of Norwich Women's Hockey is bright and we can't wait to get to work."
