NEWTON, Mass.- The Norwich Men's Soccer team continued its brief road trip through the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) with a stop at Lasell Saturday afternoon.
The Cadets drew first blood, getting on the scoresheet in the fourth minute.
Miles Bergeson (Charlotte, Vt.) took a deep throw-in in the attacking third and threw the ball into the box, finding the head of
Gabriel Cantarero (Annapolis, Md.) in the middle of the box to put Norwich ahead with his first collegiate goal.
The tally gave Norwich life, as they peppered Laser goalkeeper Reed Brown with shots. Brown answered the call and kept it a one-goal game at halftime, making six saves in the half with
Tyler Ziminski (Huntington, N.Y.) making four of his own.
After Brown made another save to open the second half, the Laser answered with Owen O'Brien redirecting a free kick to even the score. Lasell pushed the attack, looking to take the lead, but Ziminski shut the door with two saves in the final minute to preserve the draw.
Norwich's GNAC road trip rolls on, as they will take on Emmanuel in their next contest on Oct. 1 at 7 p.m.
