MIDDLEBURY, Vt.- After claiming first place in the Tony Mariano Invitational on Wednesday, the Norwich Men's Golf team travelled through the Green Mountains to compete in the two-day Duke Nelson Invitational on the campus of Middlebury College.

After day one, the Cadets sat in 17^th place, with Cooper Bertrand (Caledon, Ont.) sitting in the top ten on the individual leaderboard. On the second day, Bertrand vaulted up the leaderboard to finish in a four-way tie for second place after finishing the day -1. He shot -2 on the front nine and made birdie on two of his final four holes to secure his placement.

• Harrison Giambattista and Ben van Waterschoot, +21, T-82^nd

Norwich's next competition comes on Sept. 17 when they take part in the MCLA Invitational.
