MIDDLEBURY, Vt. - The Norwich University men's swimming & diving team concluded the 2024-25 regular season with a collection of stellar performances at the two-day Middlebury Invitational at Middlebury's Natatorium, hosted on Friday, Jan. 31, and Saturday, Feb. 1.
A select five members of the team participated in the multi-team event, as
Arthur Abrams (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.),
Kristian Adlianitski (Cheshire, Conn.),
Drew Bylow (Monroe, Mich.),
Adrian Riendeau (Ridgecrest, Calif.), and
Will Thompson (Downingtown, Pa.) all saw action in the pool over the two days. Â
The Cadets competed against four other regional institutions, including Clarkson University, Middlebury College, St. Lawrence University, and #8 Williams College.
Bylow, Riendeau, Thompson, and Adlianitski kicked off the first day of events with the first of three relay events that the Cadets saw action in throughout the weekend, finishing fifth in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a 1:27.92 effort. Bylow took to the water almost immediately after, giving the Cadets their best individual finish with a second-place performance in the 50-yard backstroke on 24.98.
Individually, Thompson, Adlianitski, and Abrams all posted top five finishes in multiple events, while Riendeau earned a top-10 position in the 200-yard IM.
Bylow, Thompson, Abrams, and Adlianitski combined for a 3:39.96 time in the 400-yard medley relay for a sixth-place finish, while Riendeau, Thompson, Bylow, and Adlianitski touched the wall in 1:37.13 to come in third.

Norwich, with hopes of defending back-to-back conference titles, will now turn its attention to the three-day Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships, hosted by Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) from Feb. 7 through Feb. 9. The Cadets, alongside the women's swimming & diving teams, were voted to claim their third-straight conference championships, as recently announced in the GNAC's Pre-Championship Poll.
