NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University men's swimming & diving team closed out its three-meet homestand in strong fashion on Saturday morning, powering past Maine Maritime Academy, 124-93, in a well-rounded dual meet victory at Goodyear Pool.
The Cadets tallied seven event wins on the day, fueled by multi-event victories from
Drew Bylow (Monroe, Mich.) and
Kristian Adlianitski (Cheshire, Conn.), while
Andrew Clark (Acworth, Ga.) and
John Connor Hallstrom (Bethany, Conn.) each added wins in the distance events.
Norwich got off to a fast start in the opening relay, as Bylow, Adlianitski,
Adrian Riendeau (Ridgecrest, Calif.), and
Gabe Wettig (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) clocked a 3:46.96 finish in the 400-yard medley relay to set the tone. Clark followed with a win in the 1000-yard freestyle (10:30.52), before Bylow returned to the water to secure the 200 freestyle in 1:51.00 and later added a victory in the 50-yard butterfly (24.43).
Adlianitski continued to shine in sprint events, posting wins in both the 50 freestyle (22.23) and 100 freestyle (49.93), leading a deep Norwich sprint group. Hallstrom rounded out Norwich's first-place finishes in the individual events with a commanding win in the 500 freestyle (5:24.17), helping the Cadets build an insurmountable lead late in the meet.
