NEW LONDON, N.H.- The Norwich Women's Soccer team returned to the road Wednesday afternoon when they made the short trek down Interstate 89 to take on Colby-Sawyer in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) competition.
The Cadets held an early advantage with
Heidi Smith (Sammamish, Wash.) getting the first chance, which was stopped by Charger keeper Gabriela Calidonio. After a
Hannah Jenkins (Manchester, N.H.) save, Norwich went back on the offensive with Calidonio shutting down
Jasmine Hackman (Clear Brook, Va.). Colby-Sawyer had a chance late off a corner that misfired, keeping the contest scoreless at the break.
Early in the second half, the Chargers found the scoreboard with Sydney Ledoux putting a ball just under the crossbar in the 58
th minute.
Kat Probst (Gouverneur, N.Y.) and
Maddy Perry (Fair Haven, Vt.) both had chances stopped by Calidonio, as Colby-Sawyer closed out the game.
The Cadets will return home Friday evening when they host Dean for a 5:00 p.m. kickoff.
