DURHAM, N.H.- Coming off a rousing victory in their home opener, the Norwich Men's Rugby team looked to build on that momentum when they hit the road to take on the University of New Hampshire Saturday afternoon.
The Cadets struck early and often in the match, getting on the scoresheet ten minutes in with a solid backline attack. The ball was worked out wide to the sophomore winger John Kelly who ran it down the outside channel to put the Cadets up 7-0 after the conversion.
The Wildcats answered shortly after with their own unconverted try cutting their deficit to two halfway through the first half. That would be as close as UNH would make the score, as Norwich would rattle off 33 unanswered including two tries apiece from Will Moulton and
Kris Wayton, along with one by captain
Marius Edwards with Wayton making four out of five conversions.
The Cadet offense kept coming in the second half with Arnaud Germain, Edwards, and
Logan Perry getting on the scoresheet before the Wildcats stopped the bleeding, bringing the final score to 62-17. Up next, Norwich will continue their road trip when they travel to Coast Guard on Oct. 5.
