CONCORD, N.H. - The Norwich University men's golf team concluded the 2024 campaign with a fourth-place showing at the two-day Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship, hosted by New England College at the Concord Country Club on Monday, Oct. 14, and Tuesday, Oct. 15.
The Cadets posted a +108 effort across the two days, first firing a +57 on day one before improving to a +51 the second day. New England College repeated as GNAC champions, as the Pilgrims recorded an impressive +60 score. Saint Joseph's College of Maine and Albertus Magnus checked in at second and third with +86 and +104 tallies, respectively. Emmanuel College, Elms College, Mitchell College, and Dean College rounded out the field.
Cooper Bertrand (Caledon, Ont.), the reigning GNAC Golfer of the Week, paced the Cadet effort during the event, finishing sixth overall after logging a +18 total.Â
Ben van Waterschoot (Whitby, Ont.) followed, coming in at 16th overall after finishing 26 over par.
Thomas Riddick (Clayton, N.C.),
Harrison Giambattista (Danielson, Conn.), and
Jordan Dustin (Concord, N.H.) all finished back-to-back-to-back, as Riddick and Giambattista tied with each other on +33 scores to end at 24th. Dustin, meanwhile, found himself in a tie for 26th after going +36.
For his efforts in finishing between sixth and tenth, Bertrand was tapped to the GNAC All-Conference Second Team, capping off a wildly impressive sophomore year for the reigning GNAC Co-Rookie of the Year. Giambattista was named as Norwich's representative on the GNAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

The GNAC Championships conclude another successful year for the Norwich men's golf program, which wraps up its third year since being reinstated as a varsity program.
New England College has now earned an automatic berth into the NCAA Div. III Men's Golf Championship, which will take place from May 20 to May 23, 2025, at the Midvale Country Club in Penfield, N.Y.
