HINGHAM, Mass. - Norwich Men's Golf continues their string of strong showings as they took second place in the Saints Invitational. The invitational was hosted by Emmanuel College at the South Shore Country Club.
The Cadets were just barely nudged out of first place, by a mere four strokes, as Roger Williams finished at 328 followed closely by Norwich at 332.
The Golf team continues to get some very strong individual performances. The Cadets placed two individuals in the top 5 and had four finish in the top 10.
Cooper Bertrand (Caledon, On.), who last week was named both the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Golfer and Rookie of the Week, continues to shine so far this year. Bertrand finished with the third best individual score at the Saints Invitational with a 79 and was only two shots away from the leader.
Matt Printup, last year's GNAC Rookie of the Year, ended the invitational with a score of 83, which placed him in the top 5 for the invitational. Tied at 6th, and only a stroke away from Printup, was
Tyler Orton. Also in the top 10,
Harrison Giambattista ended the day at 86. Rounding out the team,
Thomas Riddick shot 90.
The team will travel to VTSU Castleton for the Castleton Invitational this weekend.
