MIDDLEBURY, Vt.- Over the weekend, the Norwich Men's Golf team took part in the annual Duke Nelson Invitational hosted by Middlebury College where they placed 19
th out of the 24 competing programs. First place went to Babson, with Trinity (Conn.) taking second place, and Endicott earning third.
After the first day of competition, the Cadets sat 15
th at +27. Individually, freshman
Cooper Bertrand (Caledon, On.) was entrenched in an eleven-way tie for 11
th place at two over par leading the team with
Harrison Giambattista two strokes behind him at +4. Â
Norwich fell back on the second day by shooting +30 as a team with Bertrand maintaining his lead among teammates despite shooting a +5 on the day, leaving him tied for 25
th among 122 competitors with Giambattista finishing in a tie for 38
th place. Up next for the Cadets is the second annual Tony Mariano Invitational at Montague Golf Course on Friday Sept. 15 commencing at 10 AM.
