HOLYOKE, Mass. – For the second consecutive day, the Norwich University Baseball team was swept in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) doubleheader. This one at the hands of Elms Saturday afternoon at MacKenzie Stadium.
The Cadets fell behind early in the first game, but eventually starting pitcher
Matt Ingraffia (Lake Grove, N.Y.) settled in only allowing three hits the rest of the way. Elms's Henry Rondon was also impressive on the mound going the full seven innings only allowing one Norwich run on six hits.
In the second game, the Blazers also jumped out to an early lead. In the fourth inning, the Cadets drew to within a run of the lead with
Ryland Richardson (Windsor, Vt.) scoring on a wild pitch. The same errant pitch placed
Ryan Miller (Westhampton, N.Y.) on third base, Miller would come home on a
Geffen Franus (Leesburg, Va.) sacrifice fly. However, Elms maintained the lead throughout.
On deck for Norwich is another GNAC doubleheader against Colby-Sawyer on April 12 at 1:30 PM.
