PROVIDENCE, R.I.- For the first time in ten days, the Norwich University Baseball team returned to the diamond. In their return, the Cadets were swept in their Friday doubleheader with Johnson & Wales.
It was tough sledding for Norwich in game one as they went through eight different pitchers in the seven-inning affair. They were held off the scoreboard until a solo home run by outfielder
PJ Morales (Bakersfield, Calif.) in the fourth.
In the second game, the Cadets grabbed the lead early on.
Ryland Richardson (Windsor, Vt.) reached base on an error and would score on a sacrifice fly by
Abel Oropeza (Whittier, Calif.). The next two batters singled setting the table for a two RBI double by
Geffen Franus (Leesburgh, Va.). The lead was short lived as the Wildcats took the lead in the fourth and did not look back.
It will be a quick turnaround for Norwich as they will pay a visit to Elms in search of their first conference win. The Saturday doubleheader will get underway at 1:30 PM.
