Men's Rugby: NCR 7s National Tournament Preview

WASHINGTON, D.C. - For the fifth straight season, the Norwich University Men's Rugby team will compete in the National Collegiate Rugby (NCR) National 7s Tournament after winning another New England Wide Collegiate Rugby (NEWCRC) title. In last year's tournament, the Cadets placed eighth making it to the quarterfinal round before falling to UNC Wilmington and Georgetown.

During 7s competition, Norwich had only one defeat coming early in the campaign to Endicott in the Conference 7s Series, where they outscored the competition 144-52.

The Cadets' second tournament of the season, the UNH Milley's Memorial Tournament, saw Norwich outscore the opposition 284-17, with all 17 of those points being scored in the championship game.

The Dirt Dogs continued to roll into the NEWCRC Tournament, where they swept their way to the title outscoring their foes 126-17.

Residing in Pool C to open the tournament, the Cadets will compete with Scranton, Auburn, and Northern Iowa on April 28. The top eight overall teams will advance to the championship bracket to compete in the Quarterfinals on April 29, the winners will advance to the Semifinals and Championship on April 30.

All games will be broadcasted on NCR's YouTube channel, with more information available on NCR's website. The matchup with Scranton is scheduled for 10:50 AM, Auburn is set for 2:30 PM, and Northern Iowa is currently scheduled for a 5:48 start.
