The Norwich Men's Rugby team continued their impressive start to New England Wide Collegiate Rugby Conference (NEWCRC) play by shutting out UMass Lowell 75-0 on Saturday afternoon.
The Dirt Dogs played to their name as the rain started to come down as they were off and running early on the muddy pitch with a
Michel St-Juste try in the first five minutes.
Ben Steen would convert that try, as well as the first try of the season by
Jeff Pappalardo a few minutes later. By halftime, the Cadets would put 36 points on the board with scores from captain
Marius Edwards, Ryan Reynolds, and
Anthony Kowalski.
Norwich kept their foot on the gas out of the halftime break with two tries by
Will Moulton and one by
Dumisani Janda extending the Cadet lead to 51-0 with 20 minutes to play. More tries by Edwards,
Kyle Krebs, St-Juste and Janda would push the score up to 75-0 by the final whistle. On deck for Norwich is a tilt with the University of Vermont on Oct 14 for Senior Day.
