NEW LONDON, Conn.- The Norwich Women's Soccer team was defeated at the hands of Mitchell College, in the inaugural meeting between the two programs, 3-0 Saturday afternoon.

In the first nine minutes, the Cadets held the upper hand posting two shots on target to one, however it would be the Mariners who would break through first courtesy of Cassandra Roman in the 17^th minute. After that, the Mariners would have a flurry of chance, but Kayla Dawson (Brooksville, Fla.) would keep the game within reach at the intermission.

Soon out of the break, in the 52^nd minute, Mitchell would double their lead despite Norwich generating chances in their offensive end. The two sides traded shots and chances throughout the second half, with Norwich looking to claw their way back into the game. However, the Mariners would score in the 88^th minute to seal the deal.

The Cadets road trip continues on Sunday afternoon when they pick up the last 61 minutes of action that was suspended on Sept 9 against Emmanuel at 2 PM.
