NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Norwich University Men's Ice Hockey team continued their torrid start to 2023 with a 1-0 overtime victory over UMass Boston Friday night at Kreitzberg Arena.

Both goaltenders kept the game scoreless through regulation. Sam Best of the Beacons made 32 saves, while
Drennen Atherton (Winter Haven, Fla.) stopped all 24 shots that came his way.
Not even a minute into overtime
Noah Williams (Cortland, N.Y.) sent the puck up ice as he was heading for a line change. He would find junior defenseman
Joe Nagle (Weymouth, Mass.) who broke in and scored the game winner on the first and only shot in the extra period.
"Joey had a great rush and put it under their goalie's shin pad," Head Coach Cam Ellsworth said. "It was a race to one in a well goaltended game."
The fifth ranked Cadets will look to keep rolling when they play host to Johnson & Wales Saturday at 4 PM.
