NORTHFIELD, Vt. – The Norwich University Men's Ice Hockey team took care of business Saturday afternoon with a 7-1 victory over Johnson & Wales at Kreitzberg Arena.

The Cadets were firing early and often. Just before the five-minute mark of the first period sophomore
Bryan O'Mara (Syracuse, N.Y.) struck first. Soon after Norwich would tally two goals in 1:41 by
Paul Schmid (Linz, Austria) and
Brady Gaudette (Braintree, Mass.), with freshman
Johnny Johnson (Napierville, Ill.) notching assists on the goals that gave Norwich a 3-0 lead after the first. Johnson would tack on a goal and a third assist later.
The pressure on the Wildcats never abated as the Cadets held a 64-13 shot advantage. Norwich would add two goals a piece in the second and third periods.
"I thought it was one of our most complete efforts," Head Coach Cam Ellsworth said. "We had a great start and sustained that through the game."
It will be a quick turn around for the Cadets as they will host in-state rival Middlebury at 7 PM Tuesday night.
