Box Score NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Joseph Thongsythavong (Salem, Mass.) scored once to stretch his scoring streak to eight-games, and Amerle Nemeye (Burlington, Vt.) scored three times as the Norwich University men's soccer team downed NVU Lyndon in their final non-conference game of the regular season, 11-0 on senior night.
Nicolas Lanza (Cocoa Beach, Fla.) picked up his first collegiate victory as the Norwich goalkeeper.
Norwich scored with a corner kick that the fifth minute, that the defense was unable to keep out of the net.
Andree Hernandez (Cancun, Mexico) was the first Cadet to find the back of the net after being on the receiving end of a ball from Nemeye.
Kam Jorgenson (Titusville, Fla.) scored in 29:11 into the first half before Bienfait Badibanga (Burlington, Vt.) scored 33 seconds later.
In the 33rd minute, Nemeye scored his first goal of the match to give the Cadets a 5-0 lead. Albert Baraka (Worcester, Mass.) scored two goals in 27 seconds to finish the first half with Norwich leading, 7-0.
Thongsythavong scored in the 54th minute to keep his scoring streak alive. Baraka then fed a pass to Ryan McKee (Oneonta, N.Y.) in the 67th minute to expand the Cadet lead.
Nemeye scored in the 80th and 84th minute for the final two goals of the contest.
Norwich (11-2, 8-1 GNAC) face Rivier on Wednesday, Oct. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in Nashua, N.H. before going to New Haven, Conn. on Saturday, Oct. 23 for a 4 p.m. They will close out the season with a matchup on Sabine Field at Haynes Family Stadium against Elms on Wednesday, Oct. 27.
