Box Score PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Norwich University men's soccer team dropped a tough 3-2 heartbreaker in overtime to Johnson & Wales on Saturday afternoon in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action.
In a rematch of last year's GNAC title game, the two-time defending Wildcats once again got the best of Norwich for the third straight time thanks to Tucker MacPherson's golden goal winner in the 95th minute.
Johnson & Wales (5-2-0, 2-0-0 GNAC) jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals by Teagan Drake and Byron Arboleda in the 12th and 30th minute respectively.
Norwich (4-3, 1-1-0 GNAC) battled back though in the second half with junior Moab Schiers (South Weber, Utah) scoring twice in a span of 3:16 to knot the game back up at 2-2.
Freshman goalkeeper Stefan Skoff (San Jose, Calif.) made six saves on nine shots on goato fall to 4-3 on the year.
Johnson & Wales' Nick Tolman made five saves on seven shots on goal to pick up the victory.
Norwich will come home to wrap up its difficult five-game stretch with a non-conference matchup against Castleton scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m. on Sabine Field at Haynes Family Stadium.
