STANDISH, Maine – The Norwich University men's soccer team dropped its second-straight match in a 3-1 loss to Saint Joseph's (Maine) on Saturday afternoon in its Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) regular season finale.

Norwich (10-6-1, 6-3-0 GNAC) fell to the No. 4 seed for the GNAC playoffs with the back-to-back losses to the Monks and Mount Ida. The Cadets will host either Emmanuel or Albertus Magnus on Sunday, Nov. 1 on Sabine Field at Haynes Family Stadium in a GNAC Quarterfinal matchup.

Saint Joseph's (Maine) raced out to a 3-0 lead by halftime and never looked back as the Monks continued their dominance over NU on their home field. Norwich hasn't won at Saint Joseph's (Maine) since 2007.

Junior Alec Brigante (Colchester, Vt.) scored Norwich's lone goal at the 66-minute mark to cut into the Saint Joseph's (Maine) lead, however it was too little too late for the Cadets.

Freshman Stefan Skoff (San Jose, Calif.) made five saves on eight shots on goal in the first half for NU to fall to 10-6-1 on the year. Senior Eddie Ramirez (Greshman, Ore.) made three saves in the second half to shut the Monks down for the final 45 minutes.

Saint Joseph's (Maine) out shot Norwich 14-2 in the first half and got goals from Nicholas Borowski, Austin Bell and Sean Baker.

Scott Benner made two saves for Saint Joseph's (Maine) to pick up the win.

Saint Joseph's (Maine) leapfrogged NU for the No. 3 seed and will also play either Emmanuel or Albertus Magnus.

Norwich closes the regular season on Monday when the Cadets travel to Pine Manor to take on the Gators at 3:30 p.m.
