Box Score VERO BEACH, Fla.—The Norwich baseball team (1-5) had three innings in which it allowed more than four runs as the Cadets fell in their final game in Vero Beach, 14-2, to Richard Stockton.
Norwich was unable to get the offense going in its second meeting with the Ospreys this week, registering just seven hits. Junior Charles Schaub (East Hampton, Conn.) went 2-2 to finish the trip at a blistering .357. Sophomore Brandon Place (Concord, N.H.) drove in one of the Cadets two runs on the day to finish with a team-leading six RBIs on the trip. He also went 2-2 at the plate.
Sophomore Jordan Britton (Haverhill, Mass.) also recorded his first hit of the season and drove in Norwich's other run with a hard single through the left side in the fifth inning. It was his first collegiate RBI.
Starting pitcher Jacob Muetterties (Boxbury, Mass.) suffered his second loss of the season, yielding 6 earned runs in four innings while junior Nicholas Gendron (Alstead, N.H.) and Place closed out the game for the Cadets.
Norwich will open its Northern season on March 23rd a doubleheader at MCLA.
