Box Score POULTNEY, Vt. – Sophomore defender Wesley Keslin scored off a corner kick in the first minute of Wednesday's match at Green Mountain College and the Norwich men's soccer team never looked back on its way to a 2-0 win over the Eagles in non-conference action.
Keslin scored off a setup from freshman defender Chris Bristol to give the Cadets the early 1-0 lead that proved to be the only goal NU would need for its second straight win after snapping a four-game losing streak on Saturday against Anna Maria.
Freshman midfielder Derek Morin had a hand in the Cadets' second goal of the game as he found freshman midfielder Pedro Rodriguez for the Venezuela native's first collegiate goal in the 76th minute to stretch the NU lead to 2-0.
Green Mountain's Nate Kishbaugh saved nine shots of the eleven he faced on frame on frame, but the Eagles were unable to overcome a 16-3 deficit in shots.
Norwich sophomore goalkeeper Alex Toomey picked up his second win of the season turning aside both shots he faced.
The Cadets (3-5-0, 1-1-0 GNAC) return home to Howard Field on Saturday for just their second home match of the season as they take on Emerson at 3:30 p.m. as part of Norwich's Parents Weekend festivities.
