Men's Soccer: Cadets Lose 2-0 Battle With Lasell College

NEWTON, Mass. – The Norwich Cadets fell to 5-3 in the GNAC to top-ranked Lasell College on Wednesday by a final score of 2-0 at the Lasers.

The Cadets fell to an early deficit when Lasers' Marcus Lopez scored on a play from teammate James Clancey just 11 minutes into the game. Norwich regained their composure to keep the Lasers out their net for the remainder of the first half.

Three minutes into the second half, however, Clancey served teammate Adam Luciano a ball from a direct kick, allowing Luciano to redirect the ball with a header past Cadets' goalie Alex Toomey.

Toomey finished the 90 minutes in net with eight key saves as Norwich worked to come back from their two-goal deficit.

The Cadets will play their final contest of the regular season on Saturday, hosting Suffolk University at 12 p.m. on Howard Field. Prior to the contest, the two Norwich seniors will be recognized for the Cadets "Senior Game": Roger Motaze and Mike Lee.
