Box Score NASHUA, N.H. - The Norwich men's soccer team
embarked on a winning streak, as they shutout Rivier College on the
Raiders home turf in 3-0 fashion on Monday night.
Sophomore Jake Leclaire led the Cadets in battle as he scored
two first half goals to give Norwich the only lead they would need
to overcome the Raiders. On his first goal, Leclaire was set up by
classmate Garrett Shufelt in what became the game-winning goal. Two
minutes after putting the Cadets on the board, Leclaire followed up
with an unassisted effort to put the Raiders at a two-goal deficit
by halftime.
Taking control of the game, the Cadets continued to keep the
momentum in the favor. In the 60th minute of action, freshman Joe
Young found senior Roger Motaze with a goal scoring opportunity, as
Motaze wrapped up the scoring for a 3-0 final score.
Holding down the fort in goal, freshman Alex Toomey set aside
all five shots he saw from the Raiders.
The Cadets return to action on Saturday, hosting Saint Joseph's
College of Maine at 1 p.m.
