Adam Pfeifer concluded his sixth season at the helm of the Norwich University men's soccer program in 2021.

Pfeifer has guided the Cadets to three GNAC Championship game appearances, including back-to-back title games in 2016 and 2017. Pfeifer and NU went on a 26-game conference regular season unbeaten streak to start his head coaching career before suffering his first loss. Norwich is 64-18-15 (.737 winning percentage) overall and 37-5-10 (.807 winning percentage) in GNAC games under Pfeifer.

The 2019 and 2021 seasons tied for the highest win total (14) for the Cadets since 2008.

In his inaugural season in 2016, Pfeifer guided the Cadets to a 12-4-4 record and a berth in the GNAC Championship game, where NU fell 4-2 to Saint Joseph's (Maine) on penalty kicks after playing to a scoreless 110-minute draw. Pfeifer tutored five GNAC All-Conference selections, including the GNAC Offensive Player of the Year in Jacob Zimmerman. Zimmerman and Moab Schiers also earned NSCAA All-New England honors.

Overall, Pfeifer has coached 36 GNAC All-Conference selections and six All-New England honorees. (Jake Zimmerman and Moab Schiers in 2016, Bienfait Badibanga in 2018, Amerle Nemeye in 2019 and 2021 and Joseph Thongsythavong in 2021).

Pfeifer also serves as Head Coach and Sporting Director of Vermont Green FC of the United Soccer League (League Two) semi-professional soccer league team in December 2021.

In March 2019, Pfeifer was inducted into his high school hall of fame at Newton North High School in Massachusetts. He earned NSCAA All-American honors as a senior, the first male player in school history to earn the honor. He was also the NSCAA Massachusetts Player of the Year and the Gatorade Massachusetts Player of the Year in 1999.

Pfeifer is the 10th head coach in program history, replacing Kyle Dezotell, who departed for Manhattanville in January 2016 after serving as the Cadets' head coach for 10 years.

Pfeifer came to Norwich after serving two years as an assistant coach for Middlebury College under legendary head coach David Saward. He also served as the Associate Head Coach at Northeastern University for eight seasons prior to that.

Pfeifer helped lead Northeastern to a 68-60-26 record in eight seasons. He helped tutor 41 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) All-Conference and All-Rookie selections during his tenure.

In 2012, the Huskies won the CAA Tournament title, advanced to the NCAA Tournament Second Round and garnered a Top 25 NSCAA ranking. Northeastern boasted the league Coach of the Year, Player of the Year, Defender of the Year and also had its first player ever selected as a NSCAA All-American.

Pfeifer played collegiately at Boston College, graduating in 2008 and finishing in the top 20 on the school's all-time points list and top 10 on the all-time assists list. While at BC, Pfeifer was a four-year starter, leading the Eagles to two Big East Tournament titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances. He led the team in assists as a freshman and a senior and also led the team in goals and points as a sophomore.

After moving to Vermont in 2014, Pfeifer served as the Director of Operations for the Nordic Soccer Club in Burlington, Vt. He managed the week-to-week coordination of 30 teams and 380 players for practice and games.

Pfeifer's wife, Kate is the head field hockey coach at the University of Vermont. They have two daughters Veda and Nieve.
