Norwich University

Kevin Cole was named the head men's varsity golf coach on April 25, 2022. Cole will lead the rebirth of the NCAA varsity golf program at Norwich, fielding its first team since 1999 in the fall of 2022.

Cole also serves as assistant coach with the men's hockey team since August 2021 and working in Norwich's College of Graduate and Continuing Studies as a Student Support Advisor. 

Cole has extensive playing experience on the golf course, including two top-five finishes in the Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) Regional Tournament and a top-10 finish in the MHSAA State Tournament. He qualified for the national high school championships and won multiple high school and junior tournaments. 

"I am excited to be chosen as the first head coach for the rebirth of the Norwich varsity golf team," Cole said. "Having experience starting hockey programs at two universities will help me add to an already strong tradition for Norwich athletics." 

Cole started a new program at Purdue University Northwest, recruiting 21 student athletes for the inaugural season team and an additional 19 student athletes in year two. Prior to Purdue Northwest he helped start three teams at Trine University, successfully recruiting 90 student athletes for the inaugural season. 

Along with coaching, Cole is extremely involved in daily student-athlete academic success. He organizes weekly team study sessions and works with the student-athletes daily on academics, ensuring they achieve their academic goals. 

Originally from Lansing, Mich., Cole graduated from Michigan State University in 2006 with a degree in human resources and economics. He also earned his Master's degree in business leadership from Trine University. He played junior hockey for the Soo Indians of the North American Hockey League (NAHL). 

Cole lives in Northfield with his wife Paige who works with Norwich University and their two dogs Izzy and Blizzard.
