Matt Evans enters his second season as the quarterbacks coach for the football team in 2024.
Named to the coaching staff in August of 2023, Evans brought 11 years of experience to Norwich. Before his appointment to Norwich football, Evans was an assistant coach at fellow Division III Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terre Haute, IN. While at Rose-Hulman, he was the Special Teams Coordinator and coached Wide Receivers, Tight Ends, and Running Backs during his tenure. Under his guidance, Rose-Hulman had the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference (HCAC) Special Teams Player of the Year and led the conference in Kickoff Return yards. Offensively, the Fightin' Engineers were an explosive offense, setting season records for total offense, passing yards, and scoring offense. Additionally, the offense had four of the top ten leading receivers in the HCAC.
During the 2015-16 seasons, Evans was an assistant coach at Division II Walsh University in North Canton, OH. Evans mentored the Running Backs and Wide Receivers and was the Video Coordinator for the football team. As a graduate assistant, Evans started his college coaching at nationally ranked Division II Ohio Dominican University in Columbus, Ohio.Â
