Marc Kolb is heading into his fourth season as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterbacks Coach at Norwich University in 2022. He boasts 25 years of football coaching experience, and set 10 program records in a superb inaugural season with the maroon and gold.
In 2019, the Cadet offense transformed from a run-heavy one to a blitzing passing attack which saw the passing offense rank 17th in the nation with 310 passing yards per game. Quarterback Matt Dunn '21 ranked in the top-25 in passing yards (2,934) and passing yards per game (293.4) while wideout Manni Romero '21 ranked in the top-10 in receiving yards (1235) and receiving yards per game (123.5). Dunn and Romero each were honored as NEWMAC All-Conference players and were joined by NEWMAC Rookie of the Year wide receiver Trevor Chase '23. Romero's post-season accolades continued with a New England Football Writers All-New England Team nod and he became the first Cadet to earn the Joe Zabilski Offensive Player of the Year Award.
Prior to Norwich, Kolb was the head coach at Graceland University, an NAIA school in Iowa. Kolb had overseen offenses that have set 23 NCAA records and 6 NAIA records including 2 All-Division (NCAA and NAIA combined) records. He had coached 18 All-Americans, including two Harlon Hill Finalist quarterbacks while with the Yellowjackets.Â
In 2017, the offense was nationally ranked in several categories including 8th in first downs per game (24.7) and 11th in passing offense. In 2018, they ranked 9th in passing offense, 10th in first downs, and 27th in total offense. Individually, Preston Compton finished his career as the school’s all-time leading passer and was 8th in the country in total offense as a junior and 6th in the country as a senior. The offense also had a WR who led the country in catches per game in both years including an all-division record 158 catches in a single season.Â
While at Lindenwood University in St. Charles, MO, Kolb improved their scoring by more than 60 percent during his tenure.
Before coaching at Lindenwood, Kolb was at Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tennessee, from 2007-15. He was the offensive coordinator every season, the Associate Head Coach the last eight years and the recruiting coordinator for two seasons. He helped Tusculum set several NCAA Division II records, and he coached 12 All-Americans, 16 All-Conference performers, three conference Offensive Players of the Year and one conference Freshman Offensive Player of the Year. In 2008, he helped the program make its first NCAA playoff appearance, win the South Atlantic Conference Championship and achieve its highest-ever national ranking. Kolb coached Bo Cordell and Corey Russell, two Harlon Hill Finalists. Cordell still holds the NCAA Division II records for career total offensive yards and career passing yards. Kolb's 2010 squad led the nation with 424.8 passing yards per game.

Prior to Tusculum, Kolb was the offensive coordinator at Missouri S&T from 2002-06 and the Assistant Head Coach for two years. He helped lead the Miners to their first winning season and back-to-back winning campaigns for the first time in over 20 years. His 2006 offensive led the nation with 350.9 passing yards a game. He helped set nearly every Missouri S&T offensive record during his time there, and set or tied five MIAA records and three NCAA Division II records. While at Missouri S&T, he coached three All-Americans and 13 all-conference players.

From 1998-01, Kolb was an assistant coach at Fairfield University, an NCAA FCS school in Fairfield, Connecticut. He was the defensive line coach his first season, the offensive coordinator from 1999-2001, and was also the assistant head coach in 2001. He helped the program go 31-11 in his four seasons at the school, and the team won the 1999 MAAC Championship. Kolb coached two All-Americans and 16 All-Conference players, including the school's all-time passing and receiving leaders. His offenses ranked in the top 12 in scoring offense in the nation twice in three years, and his 1998 defense was first in the nation in total defense and rushing defense.

Kolb coached at the NCAA Division III level from 1995-97. In 1997, he was the offensive coordinator and offensive line coach at Framingham State, and in 1995-96, he was the special teams coordinator, offensive line coach and strength and conditioning coach at Curry College.

Kolb graduated from Brown University in 1994 with a degree in sociology. He is a former player at Brown from 1990-94. He was a multiple-year starter at the center position. Â
Kolb is married to his wife, Lisa, and they have three children, Matthew, Hannah, and William.
