Kyle Smesko joined the Norwich coaching staff in 2018 and assumed the responsibilities of both Offensive Line Coach and Recruiting Coordinator for the Cadets. Since then the Cadets' offensive linemen have garnered one All-Conference nod and amassed five All-Academic honors.
Smesko graduated from Allegheny College in 1997 with a degree in Economics. While at Allegheny, he was a four-year varsity member, team captain, and NCAA All-Conference selection in 1995 and 1996. He also ran three years of track.
After graduating, Smesko joined the Allegheny coaching staff for two seasons, first as a running backs coach before transitioning to wide receiver coach in his second year. He then spent five years at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut as the team's wide receivers and tight ends coach.
From there he made stops at Franklin & Marshall College and Thiel College before joining the Williams College staff in 2010. Smesko spent the last seven years at Williams, serving as the team's offensive coordinator.
Smesko also spent some of 2017 in Monchengladbach, Germany, working with the Monchengladbach American Football Club teaching German coaches fundamentals, drills, strength and conditioning, and offensive coordination skills.
