2012: Earned national recognition after leading all of Division III in doubles per game...second on team in hitting at .305... had an on-base percentage of .359 and led team in slugging percentage at .525...also led team in rbis with 19 and extra-base hits with 22...named an all-conference selection.
2011: Started all 27 games for the Cadets in the outfield in stellar sophomore season ... led the team in batting average (.337), slugging percentage (.500), at-bats (86), hits (29), total bases (43), RBI (13), doubles (seven) and homeruns (one) ... finished second on the squad in runs scored (13), on-base percentage (.383) and triples (two) ... had a 13-game hitting streak from 3/18 vs. Calvin to 4/10 at Suffolk ... earned five free passes and stole three bases ... led outfield with 41 putouts and a .977 fielding percentage ... registered an outfield assist ... selected to the All-GNAC second team outfield for the second straight year.
2010: Started 33 of 34 games played in standout freshman campaign ... ranked second on the team in batting average (.378), slugging percentage (.571), on-base percentage (.422), at-bats (119), hits (45), RBI (23), total bases (68), doubles (12) and homeruns (three) ... was third in runs scored (21) and T-3rd in triples (one) ... tied for fifth in steals with two ... had a .934 fielding percentage over 61 chances ... recorded 56 putouts and one outfield assist ... was named a second team All-GNAC performer.
BEFORE NORWICH: Played four years of varsity baseball at Metro East Lutheran High School ... team finished runner-up in 2A ... was named all-area, all-metro and all-state ... was tabbed as the small school “Player of the Year” ... also ran one year of cross country.
PERSONAL: Son of Dorothy Joyce ... has a brother, Terry Pierson ... is the Regimental Commander in the NU Corps of Cadets ... majoring in History.
