Men's Basketball: Norwich Adds Former SUNYAC Standout Trombley to Coaching Staff

NORTHFIELD, Vt. — Norwich University Head Men's Basketball Coach Paul Booth has announced the addition of Dylan Trombley to the Cadets' coaching staff as an assistant coach.

Trombley joins the Norwich program after serving as an assistant men's basketball coach at Plattsburgh State University since 2024. During his time with the Cardinals, Trombley has assisted with player development, opponent scouting, recruiting and the day-to-day administrative operations of the program.

"We are very fortunate to have Dylan join our staff," Booth said. "Given his success at Moriah High School, Oneonta and Plattsburgh, he is a winner in every sense of the word. Having had the pleasure of coaching him in AAU, I know his work ethic is unquestioned and our team will benefit from his efforts. He is a tremendous person, and I look forward to working with him."

Trombley helped Plattsburgh State reach two SUNYAC semifinal appearances while working with a program that has produced four All-Conference selections in his tenure. He also assisted with the development of the 2025-26 SUNYAC Player of the Year and an NABC All-American, all while helping the Cardinals lead the SUNYAC in steals and blocks per game during the 2024-25 season. Plattsburgh State also finished first in points per game and second in field-goal percentage in the conference during the 2024-25 campaign.

Prior to beginning his collegiate coaching career, Trombley gained coaching experience at Moriah Central School, serving as a varsity volunteer assistant coach from 2021 through 2024. He has also spent time coaching and training Elevate Wolfpack AAU teams, coaching the program's 15U and 17U teams.

Trombley brings an immensely strong playing background to the Cadets as well. A 2022 graduate of SUNY Oneonta, Trombley played a pivotal role on the men's basketball team from 2018-22. During his collegiate career, he earned All-SUNYAC Second Team and All-SUNYAC Tournament Team honors and finished his career among the program's all-time leaders in three-point field goals made and attempted. He also led the conference in three-point percentage during the 2018-19 season.

Trombley earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies from SUNY Oneonta in 2023 and later completed a Master of Science degree in Fitness and Wellness Leadership from SUNY Plattsburgh in 2025. He brings an incredible display of scouting, recruiting, high level basketball training, and an understanding of conditioning and fitness to the table.

A native of Moriah, N.Y., Trombley joined Booth and the Norwich men's basketball staff last week as the Cadets continue preparations for the upcoming season.
