Women's Swimming & Diving: LePage earns first GNAC Diver of the Week, Allen picks up third Rookie of the Week honor

WINTHROP, Mass. - The Norwich University women's swimming & diving team picked up two more weekly honors from the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) on Monday afternoon, as Delaney Allen (Gibsonia, Pa.) was named GNAC Rookie of the Week for the third time this season, and Ava LePage (Palmyra, Maine) earned the first Diver of the Week nod of her career.

The Cadets returned to action for the 2026 calendar year on Saturday at Keene State College, logging three event wins and several top-three finishes in a 189-83 setback to the Owls.

Allen led the way in the pool with a dominant performance across multiple events.  The freshman claimed a wire-to-wire victory in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:04.93, then cruised to a win in the 200-yard individual medley in 2:25.49.  She added a runner-up finish in the 100-yard freestyle (57.39) and helped Norwich's 200-yard medley relay squad to a second-place showing in 2:04.82.

LePage earned top honors on the diving board, outdistancing the 1-meter field by over 40 points with a score of 162.90 to claim her first diving win of the season.  The junior's performance marked a bright spot for the Cadets in their first meet since November and delivered Norwich's sixth GNAC Diver of the Week honor this season.  Senior Reilly Laitala (Sterling, Mass.) previously earned the award five times this year.

With Monday's announcement, Allen becomes a three-time Rookie of the Week recipient in 2025-26, matching Laitala's three Rookie of the Week plaudits during the 2022-23 season.  This honor also marks the first time since the 2023-24 campaign where two different Norwich divers have received Diver of the Week laurels, when Laitala and Heather Ansley '24 accomplished the feat.

The Cadets will return home to Goodyear Pool on Saturday, Jan. 17, to host Plymouth State University for Senior Day at 12:00 p.m.  Norwich will then close the regular season on Saturday, Jan. 24, at Eastern Connecticut State University.
