NORTHFIELD, Vt. - The Norwich University women's basketball team saw their two-game winning streak snapped in a hard-fought 77-69 loss to Albertus Magnus College in Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon in Andrews Hall.

Three Cadets netted double-figures, spearheaded by a career-high 22 points from Kiley O'Brien (Kingston, Mass.), who also corralled 11 caroms for a double-double.  Haley Brewster (Virginia Beach, Va.) drained four treys to pour in 20 points, while Maren McGinn (Georgia, Vt.) supplied 10 points to round out the double-digit performers.

Norwich hit the ground running, tipping off the game with Brewster's first long-range shot as she, O'Brien, and McGinn strung together an 8-0 spurt to open the affair before the Falcons got on the board.  Back-to-back baskets from O'Brien pushed the Cadets ahead by double-figures, but a quick rally by Albertus Magnus brought the visitors back within three.

The Cadets again surged ahead, capturing a six-point edge at the end of the first stanza.  Three early buckets by the Falcons whittled Norwich's nine-point lead down to one early in the second quarter, but a 17-5 run by the Cadets, capped off by consecutive layups from McGinn, handed the hosts a dominant 13-point lead at 41-28.

An O'Brien jumper granted Norwich its largest lead of 14 just two minutes into the third frame, but a dominant showing by the Falcons neutralized the Cadet momentum.  Albertus Magnus outscored Norwich, 23-6, over the 10-minute quarter to claim its first lead of the day.

The Falcons rallied to extend their lead to double-digits, but Norwich kept it close, as an old-fashioned three-point play by Siobhan O'Donnell (Queens, N.Y.) with 2:45 remaining brought the Albertus Magnus advantage to five.  A late Brewster trey also helped the Cadets stay within striking distance, but clutch free-throws down the stretch by the Falcons sealed the deal.

Norwich shot a blistering 42.2% from the floor with a 34.8% mark from beyond the arc, alongside a 77.8% tally from the foul line.  The Cadet defense held the Falcons to 36.8% on field goals and 32.0% on three-point shots, but Albertus Magnus thrived at the foul line, taking 42 freebies and converting on 27 of them.

Diamond White led a trio of Falcons in double-digits with 26, while Caitlyn Scott and Ava Johnson added 20 and 11, respectively.

The contest marked the return of Aliah Curry Pulaski '15 to Andrews Gymnasium, days after being announced as an inductee into the Norwich Athletic Hall of Fame.  Curry Pulaski stands as the program's all-time leading scorer and the GNAC's second-all-time leading scorer with 2,267 points.  She currently serves as an Assistant Coach for Albertus Magnus College.

Brewster's 20 points place her second on Norwich's all-time scoring list, as she has surpassed Lisa Trujillo '94 (1,561) with 1,567 points.  Her record stands solely behind Curry Pulaski's 10-year-old mark.

The Cadets will hit the road for a seismic GNAC clash on Tuesday, Feb. 4, traveling to Elms College for a 5:00 p.m. battle.  Norwich then returns home to host JWU (Providence) on Saturday, Feb. 8, and New England College on Wednesday, Feb. 12.
