PROVIDENCE, R.I.- After a dominant week to open Little East Conference (LEC) competition, the league honored two members of the Norwich Women's Ice Hockey team in their weekly awards for the week ending Nov. 9. Junior forward Breanna Ricker (Laconia, N.H.) earning Player of the Week, and first-year blueliner Ellin Rees (Cardiff, Wales, U.K.) earning Rookie of the Week.

After tallying a goal and an assist in Friday's win over VTSU Castleton, Ricker turned in a career-best performance on Saturday against Keene State. After breaking the ice in the opening minute against the Owls, Ricker netted two power-play goals for her first collegiate hat trick. In total, she racked up four goals and a helper for a five-point weekend, making her the league's leading goal scorer.

Rees was a two-way force for Norwich this week. To open the week against the Spartans, Rees scored the first goal of the contest with an unassisted goal, which proved to be the game-winner. On Saturday, she added another unassisted goal while shorthanded, to go along with two assists. That effort capped a four-point week for Rees, while also serving as a key defensive cog as Norwich held the opposition to one goal on the weekend.

The Cadets will look to keep rolling when they continue LEC play on Saturday afternoon, hosting New England College at 3:00 p.m. on November 15.
